Nelson Thomas

Public Accountant and Registered Tax Agent

Nelson is the owner and director of Focus Accounting and Financial Group Pty Ltd which he started in 2004 as Focus Tax and Accounting. He has almost 30 years of experience working in the accounting and finance industry. Nelson has always been keen to utilise his accounting and taxation expertise to help small businesses get ahead. He is passionate about seeing clients succeed and supporting them on their path to prosperity.

Brenda Thomas


Brenda is co-owner of Focus Accounting and Financial Group. She is responsible for Accounts Payable, Workplace Health and Safety and Payroll at Focus.


Jacqui Dance


Our bookkeeper, Jacqui, has been with us since 2009, and as well as the bookkeeping work she does for our clients, she also processes most client Instalment Activity Statements (IAS’s) and assists Hannah with taking calls and booking appointments.


James Elford


James has been with us as an accountant for five years, and is currently completing his studies in accounting. He specialises in accounting and BAS lodgements for our bigger clients and assists with preparation of financial and management reports. James is passionate about the insights management accounts give businesses and how they enable managers to make the right business decisions.


Hannah Elford

Client Service Coordinator

Working with Focus Accounting and Financial Group since 2013, Hannah holds a central role, booking in client jobs, making sure all the required information has been forwarded and prioritising the jobs for the Accountants to work on. She spends a lot of her time liaising with the ATO on behalf of clients and dealing with ASIC to ensure clients are compliant with relevant regulations. Hannah is currently studying in Accounting and loves helping clients.


Warren Nichols


Warren is our longest-serving employee, having started working with us in 2008. He is known for being a hard worker, and always gets the job done. Warren focuses on accounting and BAS lodgements for not-for-profit clients and assists with the preparation of financial and management reports.


Genna Kidd

Marketing & Project Management

Genna has been with Focus Accounting and Financial Group since March 2015. At the centre of Genna’s invaluable work for us is enhancement of our relationships with clients. This involves marketing, website development and project management. She also manages the payroll services offered to our clients and supports our admin team.
